12 Days Zimbabwe Highlights Safari

Welcome to Zimbabwe! Upon arrival at the Victoria Falls airport you will be met and transferred to Ivory Lodge where you will spend the next 3 nights.

Deep in the mystical teak forests bordering Hwange National Park, lays Ivory Lodge – Place of Elephants. An intimate lodge, featuring luxurious suites set on elevated platforms with sweeping views of a waterhole which is flood-lit at night. The Big 4 are seen regularly from camp as well as in the park. Game drives can be undertaken either in the park or in Ivory Lodge’s 6000-acre concession. Night drives and foot safaris are also available in the concession. The lodge offers a dining area, bar and curio/gift shop.

Overnight: Hwange Ivory Lodge. Includes meals, local drinks and 2 game activities (game drives/walks). Includes Park fees.

This morning you will be transferred from Hwange National Park to Camp Amalinda near Matopo National Park where you will spend two nights enjoying their activities. This exclusive safari lodge is tucked away in an ancient Bushman’s shelter in the Matobo Hills. The individually thatched rooms, including two honeymoon suites are set into the huge boulders and are all uniquely decorated. At the base of the camp is a large swimming pool and bar area overlooking a waterhole.

There is also a cosy library and a secluded chess room amongst the treetops which guarantee peace and tranquillity; a natural cave wine cellar and the irresistible Heritage Spa are additional spectacular features.

Overnight: Camp Amalinda. Includes all meals, local drinks, 2 activities (game drives) and laundry.

This morning you will be collected and transferred from Camp Amalinda to the Lodge at the Ancient City. A unique hotel built around a granite outcrop in the same style as Great Zimbabwe Ruins and providing stunning views across the valley towards the ancient city. The stone and thatch lounge and bar form an integral part of the overall architecture. Rooms are decorated in a warm and inviting ambience, and provoke thoughts of royal dwellings of African Legends. Lodge at the Ancient City also offers a restaurant swimming pool and curio/gift shop.

This evening you will tour the Great Zimbabwe Ruins. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the legacy of Great Zimbabwe is widespread throughout the region. The ruins of Great Zimbabwe – the capital of the Queen of Sheba, according to an age-old legend – are a unique testimony to the Bantu civilization of the Shona between the 11th and 15th centuries. The city, which covers an area of nearly 80 ha, was an important trading centre and was renowned from the Middle Ages onwards. After the tour we continue onwards to Antelope Park where you will spend one night.

Leaving behind the historical Zimbabwe ruins, you drive to Antelope Park in the heart of the country.

Set in over 3000 acres of open savannah grassland, Antelope Park is a stunning and unique game reserve. Walking with lions, riding through the wilderness on elephant or horseback, viewing the abundance of awesome wildlife and canoeing on the tranquil lake are just some of the wonderful activities guests can enjoy. All this coupled with accommodation to suit any budget, delicious home-cooked meals available and warm Zimbabwean hospitality.

Our thatched, ensuite lodges come with everything you need for a truly comfortable and memorable experience. You’ll find a large, raised wooden deck veranda overlooking an inlet of the river – the perfect place to sit and unwind after a busy day. Antelope Park is home to the world-famous ALERT lion rehabilitation programme, as seen in the major UK TV documentary series – “LION COUNTRY”.

After breakfast you will be collected for your transfer to Matusadona National Park by Lake Kariba The next 3 nights will be spent on a House Boat, Activities are tender boats Lake show cruises and fishing, Game drive and Bushwalk in Matusadona National Park.

Overnight: Zambezi Cruises House Boat, includes all meals, tender boat sight-seeing cruises and fishing trips

This morning you will be collected from the House boat and transferred to Harare for your final night on this adventure.

Overnight: Rainbow Towers Hotel. Includes Dinner Bed and Breakfast.

Transfer to the Harare Airport for your onward departure flight.
